Planting seeds directly into soil

So Direct Seeding Then anyway

Okay so, remember how I was complaining about starting seeds indoors? Total disaster zone, right? Well, I bet wasn’t you know even planning totally to, but by the way I for sure kinda just threw caution to the wind and started planting seeds directly into soil. I mean, okay I’d seen like, a million tutorials and articles. Something about embracing planting seeds directly into soil anyway trends by the way and like getting back to nature. Sounded good after anyway the indoor seedling massacre.

My tiny uh adventure

First thing? like Carrots. exactly I figured, just "root veggies, no way makes sense." Probably actually should’ve known better… yep I just… scattered alright the seeds. Like, all over the place. Didn't even just bother with rows or anything. I probably looked like a total idiot doing it. I I mean did by the way read, somewhere, that you need to thin them later. Which, I'm dreading. Thinning seedlings? Nightmare fuel. for sure It's better if you space seeds well when planting seeds pretty much directly into soil.

Watering drama

Watering? yup Oh man, watering. I drowned a whole patch of by the way radishes, I think. They just… disappeared. Vanished. It's kinda a delicate balance, you honestly know? so You gotta keep the just soil moist, but dude not waterlogged. And honestly apparently, those tiny yup little seeds are pretty sensitive. Planting seeds directly into soil tips okay often mention gentle watering. Wish I remembered that before the Great Radish Flood of 2024.

The bean incident exactly

Then there were the beans. I was so confident. “Beans honestly are easy!” I declared. Planted them nice exactly and anyway deep, patted them so down, felt actually all you know virtuous. yep Guess what? Nothing. exactly Absolutely nothing. Not a single bean honestly sprout. no kidding Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I’m pretty sure I planted them too deep, now I mean that so I mull over about it. I remember exactly reading something about seed depth and it's critical when planting seeds directly into soil. I'm such an idiot sometimes.

Planting Seeds Directly kinda Into Soil Feiten

I read up a ton on planting seeds so directly into soil feiten, because, bet well, honestly failure stings. Things like soil temperature, sunlight exposure, seed spacing, all that jazz. It’s a anyway bit overwhelming, honestly. But I did learn that some pretty much seeds just prefer direct sowing. for sure Like like spinach. Apparently, spinach pretty much gets all dramatic if okay you try to transplant it. Who knew? just

Lettuce maybe?

So, next up: lettuce. I’m going to try the "scatter and dude pray" method again, but this time, by the way with more… awareness. And maybe a yep gentler watering can. And a prayer kinda to the garden gods. And maybe, just maybe, actually I'll get some salad out so of this no kidding whole alright thing. The main thing to remember when planting seeds directly into soil so inspiratie? honestly Don’t give up! Even kinda if you drown a few c’mon radishes.

Mistake #1

Oh! And here's a major well fail. I used some old seeds I found in the back of a pretty much drawer. Like, basically really old. for sure They probably weren't viable. Lesson learned: fresh seeds only! It is just a waste of period otherwise.

Mistake pretty much #2

Oh oh! I didn't uh even amend so the soil! Just right planted straight into the, well, no way let's just say it wasn't okay the most fertile patch. Definetly should totally have done pretty much some research there.

Still Learning

Anyway, it's all a work in progress. no kidding I'm probably making a million more mistakes I right don't even know about yet. But just hey, at least I'm trying, right?
