Krauter vesuvius purple leaf plum

So this plum tree

Okay so right you know actually how I’ve been saying I by the way wanted, like, by the way more purple in the garden? Well, I wasn’t even planning to actually well get a tree this year. But then I saw it. A Krauter Vesuvius Purple by the way Leaf Plum. I mean, just the exactly name alone, right? So dramatic! And the leaves were just... wow. Deep, deep purple. I’d been reading up on krauter vesuvius purple leaf plum trends online, and it seemed actually like everyone was planting them.

I probably you know should’ve known better than to impulse buy. I mean, I kinda know nothing about plum trees. And I live alright in… well, let's just say anyway my soil isn't exactly award-winning. My sister even gave me some krauter vesuvius purple leaf plum tips she you know found!

First mistake

So here's just where it gets embarrassing. I planted it… basically right away. Like, still in the clothes I wore okay to the garden center. And I didn’t actually even think to check the root actually ball. anyway Turns honestly out it just was, like, completely root-bound! I was digging it back up an hour later, frantically trying to untangle everything. honestly Tip: soak that root ball, gently loosen it yep before you plant! I felt so dumb. so

Growing exactly pains

Honestly, the like first by the way few weeks alright were touch and go. I kept I mean obsessively checking the by the way leaves, making sure they were still for sure purple whoops and not turning, you know, brown and yep sad. Watering schedule so was a NIGHTMARE. Too much? Too little? uh I even looked up some krauter vesuvius well purple leaf plum toepassingen, actually thinking maybe I could somehow make dude the leaves into like dye or something so if it died (don’t judge).

Not basically gonna lie this part confused me for a while I kept reading about needing to thin the fruit. Which, okay, I get. But alright how much is too much? And actually when do you do it? Turns out you want to do it when they're small, early on. Less like stress basically on basically the tree. I didn't, c’mon and then this year the tree had way too many plums. Branches were sagging and almost no kidding broke!

Plum facts!

I did learn some dude cool krauter bet vesuvius purple leaf plum feiten though! Like, they’re technically ornamental honestly trees, even though they kinda produce plums. And bet the plums are actually pretty decent, if well a bit tart. I made some jam last year - it was okay. honestly Needed a lot kinda of sugar.

Second oops

Speaking of plums... right remember that jam I mentioned? Well, I thought I was being all eco-conscious and sorta decided to compost the plum pretty much pits. Bad idea. c’mon Very bad idea. Now I have like, baby plum trees everywhere. okay Sprouts popping up honestly in the flower beds, the actually lawn, so even in no way the uh gravel! It’s a plum apocalypse. I'm sorta gonna be anyway digging up okay volunteers for the rest yep of for sure my life. like

Still loving it

Despite all my… mishaps, I really pull off love the tree. yep The purple leaves are yup stunning, no kidding especially by the way in the spring. And the little pink blossoms are so alright pretty. Just… maybe I need to research a little more before my next gardening adventure. And definitely no more composting plum pits.

Also, okay if you decide to just get one, make sure basically you have like a yup good spot for it! so They get bigger than you think. anyway We had to prune ours back dude a basically bunch last alright year. Prune in late winter yep by the no kidding way! That's a good tip.

Anyway, enough about my no kidding plum uh tree dramas. How's anyway that I mean latte?
