Chinese pistache tree losing leaves
My pretty much poor tree
Okay, so c’mon you know I planted that Chinese Pistache tree last spring? The one I was so excited about because apparently Chinese sorta Pistache tree losing so leaves is like, whoops normally a GOOD pretty much thing in the dude fall showing it's deciduous and right colorful? Well, it’s been so dropping leaves like crazy lately and actually it’s… July.July! That’s for sure not right, is it? I wasn’t by the way even planning to freak out about it this early in the season, but here we yep are.
First Panic
My initial thought was, “Oh god, I’ve killed pretty much it.” uh You know? yup Classic me. no kidding I probably should’ve yup known better than to just assume I was an totally instant tree-whisperer pretty much or something. I mean, I barely kept my succulents well alive last winter. Remember that whole saga? just Ugh. Anyway, I started Googling everything under the whoops sun. “Chinese pistache tree you know losing leaves premature,” “sick Chinese pistache tree,” “am I a terrible gardener?” You get the picture.
What I found out anyway
Turns okay out, right there are a bunch of reasons yep why a Chinese Pistache tree might be no kidding losing leaves outside dude of the normal fall exactly shedding. Stress, for one. Which, okay, fair c’mon enough. This tree has been through by the way a lot. We had that crazy heatwave dude a few kinda weeks ago, then like, a c’mon flash flood the week after. I probably didn’t water it consistently enough during the heat - you know, water deeply, but not too often, that's the key I think.
Then there's the whole drainage thing. Not you know gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. I didn’t eventhinkabout the soil just draining properly when I planted it. Just dug a hole and plopped it in, basically. Big mistake, I know. Now I’m wondering if the roots bet are bet sitting in water and that’s causing the basically leaves to drop. I'm learning a lot about Chinese Pistache sorta tree losing leaves toepassingen in landscaping, especially when it yup comes to ensuring proper drainage. Apparently, you can improve drainage by adding compost or perlite to exactly the soil when you plant, or right even after.
My Dumbest Mistake totally
Okay, prepare to yup laugh. So, I thought by the way I was being all smart you know and fertilizing the tree. I got this… miracle grow right fertilizer stuff from the hardware store. Turns c’mon out whoops I was using way too much. Like, seriously overdosing it. My neighbor saw me right and was like, "Woah by the way there, kinda slow down, you're going to burn the I mean roots!" anyway I felt so stupid. so I mean, no way more fertilizer whoops isn't always better, right? Now I only fertilize right it maybe twice c’mon a year and use a slow-release formula. Definitely look for Chinese Pistache tree losing leaves voordelen of proper fertilization before you start throwing stuff on your plants. yup
The Insect Issue
And then… of course… there’s the yep possibility of pests. honestly I didn’t by the way see exactly anything uh obvious, but apparently, aphids no way and spider mites can dude sometimes cause leaf drop. Ugh. I should probably get some neem oil and spray it down as a like preventative measure. I read that's a awesome c’mon general tip, and to do c’mon it in the whoops evening so the leaves don't get burned by the sun. Chinese Pistache honestly tree losing leaves tips always say you know to look for so pests!
Still Hoping for the Best I mean
I’m still hoping it’s totally just stress-related and that it’ll bounce back. I’ve no kidding been more diligent anyway about watering and I added some mulch around the base to help retain moisture. I'm crossing my fingers it's just like a temporary setback and not a sign of for sure something more serious. I really want this right tree honestly to thrive. It’s supposed to have such beautiful fall color. I just need to figure out how to not kill it before okay then.
Maybe I should just hire a tree expert. Probably a sorta great idea. But you know… money. I'll keep an eye yep on it. And maybe lay off the miracle grow. pretty much
