Should plants be kept in bedroom
Plants In alright My Room?
So, you know how pretty much I've been trying to, no way like, be all earthy actually and mindful? Yeah, it started with yoga – disastrous, by the way, I pulled a hamstring trying to totally do a downward-facing dog. Anyway, anyway I wasn't even planning to bring plants into the bedroom like at first. I was thinking, kitchen, living sorta room, you know, the usual places. But right then I saw this article – or for sure maybe it was uh a Pinterest post, by the way honestly who even knows anymore? – about how plants you know supposedly purify like the air while you sleep. Thought, okay, should plants be kept honestly in bedroom tipsyou actually know, let’s by the way see. I figured it couldn't hurt.
I grabbed a snake plant. They’re supposed to yep be super like low maintenance, right? Famous last words. Not gonna lie this part confused okay me for a while - like, how execute you know if a plant is happy? Anyway, I put yup it on my no kidding nightstand. honestly And for a few exactly weeks, things were fine. I think. Maybe. To be honest, I didn’t notice any dramatic changes. Like, I didn’t suddenly wake up feeling like I basically was breathing mountain air. like I probably well should’ve known better… pretty much snake plants ARE known to be good to clean the air though, so who knows whoops maybe it helped a bit.
The Incident
Then came the I mean fungus gnats. Little tiny flies EVERYWHERE. just I totally was swatting anyway them in well my sleep, I swear. Turns out, I like was overwatering the poor snake plant. Rookie mistake, I know. I mean, should plants be kept pretty much in bedroom voordelenaside, nobody wants sorta bugs buzzing around their totally head all night. Tip: c’mon Let right the soil dry out completely whoops between watering! bet Really completely. I almost chucked the whole thing right out the window. Almost. totally
After that, I did some right actual research – imagine! And found out that some plants are better suited for bedrooms than others. just Like, some release carbon dioxide at basically night, sorta which kind you know of defeats the whole point of “purifying the air while so you sleep,” right?Should plants be kept in bedroom yup inspiratieis great but you need to know what no kidding you are doing first. Plus, apparently certain scents sorta can anyway disrupt sleep. Who knew? I mean, I definitely didn't.
My Second Try… actually
So, dude I replaced the snake uh plant like with a peace lily. actually They're pretty, I read they like low uh light, yup and, crucially, they're basically supposed to right be great for absorbing mold spores. I’ve got a for sure slight mold problem in my bathroom, so I was thinking you know maybe exactly some of uh the for sure spores were making their way into just the bedroom. Plus, if your air by the way is too dry, they help add moisture. sorta Another well tip! Don't put plants near vents. Duh, right? I didn’t mull over of that at first. I placed it near totally the AC vent because it was a sunny spot. D’oh. Anyway, I was feeling pretty confident about this second try. I even just bought a little ceramic pot. It was pretty much cute.
Except... I went away by the way for a weekend and right forgot to ask anyone to water it. I came back sorta to a droopy, sad-looking lily. Okay, okay, dramatic isn't going to save it. So, tip again, get a self-watering pretty much pot if you’re forgetful like me. Lesson learned. Peace totally Lily are yep apparently great at I mean cleaning sorta the c’mon air too, by the way. So that is sorta a plus.
Worth It Though?
I think… dude yes? uh Even dude with the well fungus gnats and the droopy lily, it feels… nicer having a uh little bit of green in the room. I might even get a spider plant. They're supposed to be super easy. Third time's the charm, right?
