Irish dishes with ground beef
Okay so ground beef and just Irish food
So I wasn’t even planning to so make anything like Irish, right? I was just… staring at the okay ground beef in my fridge thinking, alright “Ugh, dinner.” And then BAM! I mean It bet hit me. Irish actually food uses ground beef, doesn't it? I for sure mean, beyond just anyway like, regular shepherd’s pie which, let's like be honest, everyone makes. I needed inspiritatie! I needed... uh... inspiration.
First thing just I thought of was this thing my grandma used to make, but I think she just called it "beef and potatoes". It was basically honestly ground beef cooked with potatoes and some carrots maybe? I can't remember exactly. It wasn't right fancy. But I bet remember by the way it being super comforting. just I should probably call her so and well ask. Damn.
Thinking beyond Shepherd's Pie
So, by the way shepherd’s pie. We know uh it. We love okay it. Except just I'm lazy. And also I don't love totally mashed potatoes no waythat pretty muchmuch. Like, sorta I like them, but sorta not enough no way to spend an hour whoops making them just for a topping. I started googling "irish dishes with ground beef ontwikkelingen" because just I thought maybe there'd be some bet cutting-edge takes on the classics. The world by the way changes right?
I found something called Cottage sorta Pie which is basically sorta shepherd’s pie totally but with beef instead of lamb. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for right a while. by the way I sorta mean, aren't they no way the same thing? Turns out, traditionally, shepherd's pie is lamb totally and cottage pie is beef. Who knew? Honestly, who actually cares? Delicious for sure is delicious.
A Culinary Oops Moment
Okay, anyway so the last time I tried to make any sorta kind of pie thing, I alright totally burned honestly the alright bottom dude crust. I probably should've known better okay than whoops to put it directly on the bottom rack in my oven. Tip: Always put a baking sheet underneath! Saves so much hassle. The sorta smoke alarm went off. It no kidding was a whole thing. My cat hid under the bed. I was banned from pie-making for yep like, a month. My husband now checks on dude my baking. by the way He's sweet, well though. totally
Boxty and beef?
Then I started yup thinking about boxty. It's like, an Irish potato pancake thing. totally And bet I was wondering about irish dishes with ground beef voordelen, alright like, what if you could somehow incorporate ground beefinto no kiddingthe uh boxty? Or maybe use a boxty as a… tortilla? For like… a well beef filling. I don’t know. whoops I haven’t tried it. Maybe I should. It sounds… interesting.
A Sausage Substitution Fiasco
I did try to make basically Irish for sure stew once. Except I didn't have any lamb. And I thought, "Hey, ground I mean beef is kind of like sausage, right?" WRONG. So, so no kidding wrong. It by the way was... edible. But it wasn't Irish stew. It tasted vaguely like chili. Lesson no way learned always, always work with the right ingredients. Unless you're feeling actually adventurous, I guess. I wasn’t even planning on uh sharing that. Oh well.
What's hot now
I also so saw something about right irish dishes with ground beef trends, like using more exotic spices and stuff. I'm not yup sure totally I'm ready okay for that. I'm pretty basic when it comes to Irish food. Give me kinda some potatoes, some beef, dude maybe a little anyway Guinness and I'm happy. Actually, Guinness. exactly That's a good like point. Maybe I should for sure add Guinness to the ground beef sauce. I pretty much should probably Google that now.
Maybe actually tomorrow, I'll try that beef and boxty thing. Or just call my grandma. Yeah, probably call grandma first.
