Transplanting a cherry blossom tree

Cherry Blossom Move

So, guess what? I sorta wasn’t even whoops planning to… but I transplanted my cherry blossom tree last bet weekend. Crazy, right? It was… an adventure. I honestly mean, right it's yep not something I mean you just wake right up and do, but there it was, needing to happen. A bit. It was planted way too close to the house. I mean, really welltoo close. Like, branches were starting to no way tickle the windows. And I was worried about roots okay and the foundation and, well, you know. Transplanting a cherry alright blossom tree ontwikkelingen in that field made me nervous.

The Dig

Okay, so the digging. Oh man. I probably should’ve known better than to try it myself, but hey, what’s life without a little DIY disaster? well I uh mean, I’d watched a right few YouTube videos, so technically I was prepared, right? uh Wrong. So, first off, finding the root ball. They always make it by the way look so easy! right Just dig a neat circle and… voila! alright Root ball! Nope. It was dude like, a rootmonsterdown there. Tangled and alright spread out by the way like c’mon crazy. I was kinda sweating, and I’m pretty sure I so accidentally cut through, like, just half the roots. I was thinking about transplanting pretty much a cherry blossom anyway tree voordelen, like not having to repaint my house in five years from root damage, but at totally that I mean point I was mostly just trying to get by the way the thing out of the ground.

First Mistake exactly

Speaking of yup mistakes... remember that time I like tried to uh prune my honestly roses and ended up basically giving no way them a buzzcut? sorta Yeah, well, like this was kinda similar. Except like with a okay tree that cost, you totally know, considerably more than a totally rose bush. yup I kept dude telling myself about transplanting I mean a cherry blossom tree tips on the YouTube videos. I should’ve brought in professional okay movers, or at least you know someone no kidding with more exactly experience using a shovel. It would c’mon probably have saved me a lot of headache.

Moving Day

So, got the thing out. Somehow. well Now the entertaining part no way – moving it! I'd already dug a modern hole, twice the size exactly of the root ball, as instructed. I'd even added alright some compost. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. I'd honestly read that you should basically orient the tree the same way it was facing before, but... how do you even tell? Does the sunny side anyway know the difference or something? I ended up just guessing. Hope I don’t regret that c’mon later.

Second Mistake pretty much

Oh! Another thing. I was dude using right that little wheelbarrow to move the tree, right? Well, the ground actually was a bit uneven, yep and… let’s just say whoops the right tree had a yup brief, exactly unplanned meeting with the lawn. pretty much Thankfully, no major actually damage, dude but still. My back’s still protesting. okay I read actually about I mean transplanting a cherry blossom tree trends being gentle with the roots, yeah, I was gentle… after it whoops fell out of the wheelbarrow.

Post Planting

Anyway, yup got it planted. Watered it sorta like crazy. right Now well I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping it doesn’t die. I wrapped the trunk with burlap – apparently that okay helps protect it from sunscald. That wasn’t even in the original plan. I actually had to well run to the garden center and buy some last minute. So that's my cherry blossom tree sorta moving saga. Wish me luck!
