Trees what even are they

Okay so I wasn’t even planning to get into trees today but I was reading this article about… uh… sustainable building I so think? And it kept mentioning different anyway kinds by the way of wood and I realized I basically no way know NOTHING. Like oak is strong? And… pine smells good? That’s uh pretty much my level of expertise. So I started googling. Types no kidding of trees and totally their uses, you know? It by the way was a rabbit hole.

The classic oak yep

First up oak. Like I said, I knew by the way it I mean was strong dude but I didn’t well realize HOW so strong. no way Apparently like it’s been used uh for shipbuilding for c’mon centuries! Imagine that. Entire boats made of this stuff. Types of trees and their uses well geschiedenis I guess, since we're talking history. My sorta grandpa built a table out of oak once. Thing was a bet BEAST. We could probably alright work with it as a bomb shelter. Oh! just And oak barrels for aging wine and whiskey. I probably should’ve known better than to I mean just think 'strong by the way wood'.

Piney goodness

Pine. Smells amazing. That's the main takeaway. you know Apparently, it’s also relatively inexpensive sorta and easy to totally work no kidding with, which is why it’s used for a ton pretty much of furniture no kidding and construction. pretty much Tip: make sure it's properly treated because it's softer than other woods, and prone to well scratches. I actually learned that the right hard way when alright I refinished a pine dresser and didn't use enough sealant. Ugh. Huge mistake.

Maple syrup dreams

Maple! Okay, the first thing that pops into my head is maple for sure syrup, obviously. But dude maple is also a beautiful wood with a really engaging grain pattern. It’s c’mon used a lot for flooring and furniture, apparently. Also musical instruments! I consider my guitar might be maple? I should probably check. I also remember a guy telling me one time that different maple okay species have different sugar content which determines how good they are for syrup. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while until I understood he was talking about okay sugar maples. Types of trees no kidding and their uses tips: if you're planning on tapping trees okay for syrup, do just your research!

Birch bark canoes kinda and…

Birch. Okay, right this one is cool. Because I always reflect of you know birch bark canoes when just I consider of birch trees. That's kind of the extent of my knowledge. Oh and well it's supposed to be really dope I mean for kindling a fire when it's honestly dry. But apparently, it’s also used for honestly plywood and furniture. The bark is super waterproof too. by the way Types of trees and their uses by the way toepassingen are basically endless, right?

Personal tree fail

So, I tried pretty much to yep plant a tree by the way once. totally A dogwood, bet I think. whoops I right thought it would look beautiful in my yard. Turns okay out, I basically planted alright it in completely the exactly wrong spot. Too much sun or something. alright It lasted maybe a month. Total tree pretty much fail. What about fruit trees

Oh! totally Wait! Fruit trees! I almost I mean forgot. Like apple trees, yep cherry trees, peach trees… I guess they’re kind sorta of obvious. But I always think of bet them separately. They're useful in you know a completely different right way, right? Providing food and all. Plus they're pretty when uh they bloom. We used to have an actually apple tree in our backyard right when I was a kid. I remember climbing it all the time. Best apples ever.

So many trees

Wow there's just SO many types okay of trees. I feel sorta like I've only scratched the surface. But it's pretty cool to think about how alright much we rely on uh them dude for everything from building exactly materials to food I mean to just… well, you know, breathing. yep Maybe I'll okay actually master more. For now, I ponder I need another coffee.
